Yom Hazikaron
Rabbi Seth Mandell, father of the late Koby Mandell z"l, who was brutally murdered by Arab terrorists addressed the talmidim about the "Jewish" response to terrorism and the day of Yom Hazikaron. We proceeded to the military cemetery in Gush Etzion where we took part of a moving Yom Hazikaron ceremony along with thousands of others. In the afternoon the talmidim had an emotional filled tour of Har Herzl, Israel's largest military cemetery.

Yom HaAtzmaut Night
The Beit Midrash was packed to full capacity on the night of Yom HaAtzmaut with talmidim of the yeshiva and members of the greater Ramat Shilo community. The Tefillot led by Rav Dudi Winkler were ecstatic as we sang and prayed with great joy for Hashem showering upon us the great gift of the "State of Israel." The Tefilla was followed by a jubilant Chagiga led by guest musician Naftali Abramson and band. The enthusiastic dancing was packed with yeshiva boys, members of the community and their children, it was a beautiful sight.

Yom HaAtzmaut (Day)
After a impactful Shacharit filled with Hallel and Hodah, the yeshiva embarked on its Yom HaAtzmaut tiyul. First stop was the "Herodian," King Heroed's fortress and tomb. We climbed through its caves and gazed out on top of the fortress, to breathtaking views of Yerushalyim, Gush Etzion, and the Dead Sea. In the spirit of the day, we visited Kfar Etzion's "sound and light" show, which ends off at the last remaining bunker in the Gush before all Jews in the Gush were killed and the Gush fell, we sang Ani Maamin and HaTikva over the bunker, an experience that will stay with us forever. The day ended with a festive BBQ with Rabbeim and their families in the nearby pastoral Moshav Yishi.

The event was full of song and dancing l’chvod Rashb”i.
