Welcome Lev HaTorah Students 09-10
BeChasdei Hashem the boys arrived safely at Ben Gurion Airport on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
The boys were met at the airport by our team of madrichim, ice cold water, and of course their cellphones.  The talmidim were addressed by Rav Boaz Mori, Rosh HaYeshiva on the special opportunities that this special year in yeshiva can bring.   Later that night we had an ice cream and nacho party which helped boys meet the madrichim and fellow classmates.

Yerushalayim Tiyul
After a morning of orientation, we were off to Yerushalayim.  First stop was Har Adar, a spectacular look out point on all directions of Israel.  Next stop was the Haas Promenade, overlooking Har HaBayit, where we joined together singing “Im Eshkacheich Yerushalayim.”  The night finished off with a powerful Maariv at the Kotel and some free time in the Old City.

The First Shabbat of Yeshiva
The first Shabbat of yeshiva started with a powerful Kabbalat Shabbat filled with the “Lev” ruach.  After dinner we had our first “Tisch” led by Rav Mo, although guys were tired the tisch was full of energy.  The talmidim enjoyed a Kiddush with their apartment mates and madrichim.  Rav Fass hosted his first “GFGAC” of the year, giving great divrei Torah while the boys get to munch on his wife’s delicious cakes.

The First Lev Outing
With intense football games, ultimate, and wiffle ball, a extremely refreshing pool and a sizzling BBQ, all enjoyed our awesome outing to Speedy Kef. The outing was a great opportunity for the guys to get to know each other, their Rabbeim and the families of the Rabbeim in a laid back atmosphere. The day ended with a great BBQ together with a game of "Yeshiva Panapoly" lead by our madrich Avi Staiman

Beach/Grape Smashing Tiyul
After a morning of some serious waves at the Ashdod beach the boys spent a rather unique afternoon in the vineyards of Lachish.  We picked grapes, stomped on them to make fine grape juice and baked delicious pitas, from just flour and water.  We truly got to feel close to the land of Israel in the magnificent Judean hills.  To end off a great day, we visited Moshav Shekef, where we met with families formerly from Gush Katif living in temporary homes.  The boys distributed nice packages for Rosh Hashana as our expression of our respect and admiration for this community.  The boys were well received by the community.
