Lev HaTorah’s First Tiyul: Har Adar, The Tayelet, and Ma'ariv at the Kotel

At Har Adar, we ascended a tower with a panoramic view of a great view of Eretz Yisrael.  On the top of the tower, Rav Asher Friedman made the annual Shehecheyanu on a Sabra fruit keeping in mind the joy of entering Eretz Yisrael.  The Talmidim had a chance to climb through old Israeli tanks and previously occupied Jordanian bunkers on the top of Har Adar, which was a strategic battleground in the wars of 1948 & 1967.  Next stop was The Tayelet.  There we had a clear view of the Old City and Har Habayit.  As the Shulchan Aruch rules, we tore Keriyah there, while singing “Im Eshkachech Yerushalayim”.  The last stop was the Kotel, where we davened Ma'ariv.
