Who may take online courses?

  • Matriculated Students – Those enrolled in a Gratz degree or certificate program (for information concerning matriculation, contact admissions office at admissions@gratz.edu)
  • Non-Matriculated Students – Those who are considering applying to Gratz, but have not studied online before; those who are in degree programs at other colleges and are interested in transferring credits from Gratz into their program; those who are interested in the subject

(Please note: There are NO auditors in online classes. Auditors may take courses at our Mandel campus in Elkins Park, PA.)

How much does it cost to take an online course?

Gratz College charges tuition per course not per credit.

How do I register?

  • Non-matriculated students fill out a paper registration form. There are three options for submission of the form:
    • Fax the form to 215-635-7399 attention Online & Distance Learning;
    • Scan and email a signed form as a PDF file (no MSWord or other document text files are accepted) to online@gratz.edu; or
    • Mail the form to Gratz College, 7605 Old York Road, Melrose Park, PA  19027, attention Online & Distance Learning
  • Matriculated students register online – for instructions contact Hope Matles in the office of academic affairs at hmatles@gratz.edu or 800-475-4635 x 172 

Are there any discounts available for non-matriculated students?

Yes there are discounts. These are only applicable to non-matriculated students. Choose one of the discounts below:

  • Bring a Friend Discount – register together with a new student who has never taken a course at Gratz College and each student may deduct $50 from tuition
  • Multi-course Discount – register for two or more courses and deduct $100 from tuition on the second or third course
  • Senior Citizen Discount – take 25% off tuition

Are there any discounts available for matriculated students?

The only discount available to matriculated student is Bring a Friend. You may take $50 off the tuition for one course and your friend may do the same. Matriculated students may apply for scholarships and fellowships. Contact admissions@gratz.edu for more information.

How many credits do I earn if I take an online course?

All online courses are 3 credits each; students may take most of the courses for undergraduate or graduate credit. If a course is limited to graduate students, it is indicated on the course list.

What are the expectations of non-matriculated online students?

All students are required to participate fully in all elements of the online course, including active participation in online discussions and submission of all papers.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds for the summer session are as follows:

  • 100% refund until June 12, 2007
  • 50% refund until June 19, 2007
  • 50% credit toward a future course until June 26, 2007
